Easily Set File and Folder Dates after Restore or Copy
Melbourne, Australia - May 3, 2010 - DataMystic announces the latest release of DirDate ? a utility to set the date on any file or folder? the perfect tool for photo-philes, archivists and system administrators.
When copying photos, videos and files (or restoring them from a backup), the original creation date is always lost ? making it impossible to locate old photos by the date they were taken, or other files by the date they were originally created.
DirDate solves this problem with a REPORT mode to backup existing file and folder dates. In the absence of an existing report, the DIRFIX mode can intelligently set folder dates after a backup/restore or copy has obliterated all folder creation dates.
DirDate can also set the access, modified or create date of any file or folder, using a set date/time, the time from a reference file, parts of the current time or a myriad of other options ? even down to the nanosecond!
DirDate offers a console interface that makes automation and integration a breeze for system administrators.
